Both characters were obssessed with a man and went to extra ordinary lengths to do whatever it took to keep them as theirs but I think Kathy Bates was a step crazier than Alex. She murdered people and I don't think that Alex did.
 
Actually correction she killed two people and technically not an 80s movie. Kathy Bates character's name in the movie was Annie Wilkes. Also Misery was released in 1990 but we can give it a pass. It's like 1979 which usually falls into the 80s.
 
I remember the rabbit scene lol. Annie did murder but I think Alex would of too if given the chance.
