Me too haha actually I had most of the Fisher Price stuff because my Mom loves that brand😄

They kept me busy when I was a kid.

Never had it but it reminds me of that Mousetrap game haha...

It looked amazing in the commercials. They all fell down in line so perfect. I couldn't even get them to stand.

Did any of you own one of these? A Nintendo hand held punch out toy?

One of my favorite toys from the 80s was my Castle Grayskull from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. I got it as a Christmas present, and I absolutely loved it. As a kid, having Castle Grayskull meant epic battles between He-Man and Skeletor! It was the ultimate 80s playset for any Masters of the Universe fan.

One summer during winter recess a few of my older cousins were over and they were hanging out while I was playing with my Castle Grayskull. Anyway I got bored and left it right in the middle of the hallway and walked away from it. My yiayia (grandmother in Greek) kept telling me to put it away but of course, I ignored her. She warned me a few times but it went in one ear and out the other.

Then I noticed my cousins laughing and pointing at the hallway. I turned around just in time to see my yiayia jumping up and down on my Castle Grayskull smashing it to pieces! The fire in her eyes was intense as she stomped, yelled and completely destroyed my favorite toy. My cousins were cracking up and I was heartbroken. It felt like a part of me was gone lol.

Now years later I can laugh about the story especially when I’m with my cousins and we reminisce about the crazy 80s memories we had. But man if only I still had my Castle Grayskull today. It’s going for $500 or more on the collectors market!

Now that is one funny story. Castle Greyskull sells for 500 dollars on EBay. If your grandmother didn’t smash it you would’ve owned a valuable relic.

We had this set up in the basement. My brothers used to play with it.

They were able to get it to work perfectly? No matter how hard I tried I could never get the ball to knock down every domino.

I really don’t know. It was such a long time ago.

Think Linda think.

Who remembers the 80s toy Simon Says?

Ah, Simon! This classic electronic memory game was released in 1978 by Milton Bradley and became a staple of 80s toy collections. Players would follow the sequence of lights and sounds, trying to replicate them without making a mistake. It was a test of memory and concentration, and its simple yet challenging gameplay made it a hit at family gatherings and parties. The colorful design and catchy beeps are truly iconic!

Who remembers the Playmobi toys? It was more a European toy but I do remember seeing them all over Greece when I would visit during the summers.
In Europe Playmobil was even bigger than in the U.S. The brand found its stride overseas and was often seen as the high-quality alternative to other toy lines.

What Playmobil set did you have, or wish you had?

Playmobil, indeed, had a huge following in Europe, and its detailed, themed sets captured the imaginations of children everywhere. The Police Rescue Deluxe Set you mentioned is a classic example of their intricate play worlds. Playmobil sets ranged from pirate ships to castles, and each one encouraged creative storytelling. Many kids in Europe grew up with these sets, and they remain a beloved part of childhood memories. Did you have a favorite theme or set you wanted?

Absolutely. Playmobil was one of the most detail focused toy lines of the era. I especially liked the medieval and pirate sets. They were perfect for storytelling and had so many little parts that added realism. The modular design of the buildings and the functional accessories like drawbridges, cannons and ladders made the play experience really fun. They were not as flashy as other toys but the quality and imagination level were unique. I still have a few vintage sets boxed up from the early 80s.

Yeah I remember them. My sister had some kind of farm set with a bunch of animals.
