On This Day: May 10, 1984 - Twisted Sister Releases Stay Hungry
On May 10, 1984, Twisted Sister released their third studio album Stay Hungry, the record that catapulted the band into rock stardom. Featuring anthems like We’re Not Gonna Take It and I Wanna Rock, the album perfectly captured the rebellious spirit and theatrical flair of 80s heavy metal.

Stay Hungry reached number 15 on the US Billboard charts and went on to sell over 3 million copies in the United States alone. Its music videos became MTV staples, helping Twisted Sister become household names with their outrageous look and confrontational style.

Fun fact: The album cover, showing frontman Dee Snider in full makeup holding a giant bone, became one of the most iconic metal images of the decade.
