On This Day: March 26 1987 Final Episode of The Colbys Aired
On this day March 26 1987 the final episode of The Colbys aired. A spinoff from the hit series Dynasty the primetime soap opera followed the wealthy and powerful Colby family in Los Angeles. With its blend of romance power struggles and family drama the show aimed to expand the Dynasty universe with even more high stakes storylines.

The Colbys ran for 2 seasons with a total of 49 episodes. The cast featured Charlton Heston Barbara Stanwyck Katharine Ross and Maxwell Caulfield among others. While it carried over the glamour and drama of its parent series it never reached the same level of success and was canceled after its second season.

Fun fact: The Colbys became famous for one of the most unexpected cliffhangers in TV history when Fallon Carrington was abducted by a UFO in the series finale.

Trivia question: What Dynasty character did Emma Samms play in both Dynasty and The Colbys?
