On This Day August 6 1985 – Kix Released Midnite Dynamite
On this day August 6 1985, Kix released their third studio album, Midnite Dynamite. Produced by Beau Hill, the album marked a major step forward for the Maryland hard rock band, combining arena ready hooks with driving guitar riffs and the unmistakable vocals of Steve Whiteman. Standout tracks included Midnite Dynamite, Scarlet Fever, Cold Shower, and Bang Bang (Balls of Fire).

Although the album didn't become a major commercial hit upon its release, it helped establish Kix as one of the most exciting American hard rock bands of the decade. Its polished sound and energetic songwriting laid the groundwork for the band's breakthrough success with Blow My Fuse three years later.

80s insight: Today, Midnite Dynamite is widely regarded by fans as one of Kix's finest albums. It perfectly captured the melodic hard rock sound of the mid 1980s and remains a favorite among collectors and fans of the era's glam and hard rock scene.
