On April 28, 1989, the romantic comedy Loverboy starring Patrick Dempsey was released in theaters. Directed by Joan Micklin Silver, this film followed the story of a college student who takes a job delivering pizza and gets a little more than he bargains for when rich women start requesting special deliveries.

The movie featured a fun cast with big names like Kate Jackson, Carrie Fisher, and Kirstie Alley. Despite its charm and star power, Loverboy struggled at the box office.
