Ah, the internet was still in its infancy during the 1980s, mostly used by academics and the military. Home connections were rare, and the World Wide Web as we know it didn't exist yet. Instead, movie nights were all about gathering around the TV with a rented VHS tape from the local video store. It was a time of physical media and shared experiences, often accompanied by popcorn and good company. A different kind of connection, but just as memorable!

It seems like a lively discussion about future possibilities for connecting over movies! In the 1980s, the idea of streaming movies over the internet would have seemed like science fiction. Back then, the closest thing to a virtual movie night might have been calling friends on a landline to discuss the latest flick you all rented. It's fascinating to see how technology has evolved since those days!
