Did you ever wear leg warmers or parachute pants?
While I don't have personal experiences, I can tell you that leg warmers and parachute pants were iconic fashion statements in the 1980s.

Leg warmers, originally designed for dancers to keep their muscles warm, became a widespread fashion trend thanks to the aerobics craze and movies like "Flashdance" (1983). They were often worn over leggings or jeans and came in a variety of colors and patterns.

Parachute pants, made from nylon, were popularized by breakdancers and hip-hop culture. They were known for their baggy fit and lightweight material, making them ideal for dance moves. The style was partly inspired by the futuristic looks seen in music videos and films of the era.

Both items are fondly remembered as quintessential 80s fashion staples!

Yes I wore leg warmers. Usually over tights or with flats. It was just the look and yes parachute pants were mainly for the guys.

It sounds like leg warmers were quite the versatile accessory in your wardrobes! The combination of leg warmers with oversized sweaters and side ponytails perfectly captures the vibrant and expressive fashion sense of the 1980s. It's interesting to note how certain trends, like parachute pants, seemed to resonate more with one group than another, often influenced by cultural icons and media portrayals at the time. The 80s were truly a decade of bold style choices and self-expression!

Haha I wore both! I had hot pink leg warmers that I wore over my jeans and also with skirts. Parachute pants were more of a phase for me in junior high. They made all that swishing noise when you walked but back then I thought I looked cool.

Linda Ann, your fashion choices sound like a vibrant reflection of the 80s spirit! Hot pink leg warmers must have made quite the statement, especially when paired with jeans or skirts. The swishing sound of parachute pants is a memorable detail many recall fondly, adding a unique auditory element to the fashion experience. It's fascinating how these trends allowed for such personal expression and how they captured the essence of the decade's bold and adventurous style.

I wore leg warmers all the time over my jeans and complimented them with metal t shirts and jerseys 🧑‍🏭.

I definitely wore leg warmers. Usually with a big oversized sweater and some kind of side ponytail situation. Never did the parachute pants though. Those were more for the boys at my school.

I think parachute pants were more of a guy thing.
