I always wanted a Sony Walkman.. but had to cope with aiwas or phillips. All my recording tapes were Sony though! :D

As a non-english speaking country, we called "walkman" to every portable cassette player.
 
Walkmans were probably one of the best inventions during the 1980s. I used to bring mine everywhere with me. Those headphones were always on my ears.

For starters I can't believe that I just saw this and that was thanks to Donna Marie. Three years later.

It sure was. Especially at night when everyone was sleeping. I couldn't play my boombox or my record player so the walkman was it.

It definitely was.
 
I had one of the early ones. That thing was built solid. None of this cheap plastic junk you see today. I used to throw it in my gym bag with a couple of tapes and it never let me down. Battery life was garbage. I still remember my first tape. It was Black Sabbath.
