On This Day: May 31, 1983 - Final Episode of Bring 'Em Back Alive Airs
On this day May 31, 1983, the final episode of Bring 'Em Back Alive aired on CBS. The action adventure series starred Bruce Boxleitner as big game hunter Frank Buck and Cindy Morgan, known for her role in Caddyshack, as U.S. Consul Gloria Marlowe. The show was set in 1930s Singapore and featured weekly stories filled with danger, espionage, and exotic intrigue.

Although it only lasted one season with 17 episodes, Bring 'Em Back Alive was part of the early 80s wave of pulp-inspired television that drew influence from Indiana Jones and classic adventure serials.

Fun fact: Bring 'Em Back Alive aired during the same season as CBS’s Tales of the Gold Monkey, as networks tried to capitalize on the renewed interest in globe trotting adventure stories.
