On this day May 22 1980 Diana Ross released her landmark tenth studio album Diana. Produced by the legendary duo Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards of Chic the album brought Ross into the new decade with a fresh and modern sound that blended disco funk and pop.
The album climbed to number 2 on the Billboard 200 and became an international sensation hitting number 1 in Sweden and charting high across Europe.
