On this day March 26 1980 Van Halen released their third studio album Women and Children First. The album pushed their hard rock sound even further with heavier riffs and a rawer edge while still showcasing Eddie Van Halen’s blazing guitar work and David Lee Roth’s wild energy. Women and Children First reached number 6 on the US Billboard charts and went on to sell over 3 million copies in the United States. It featured standout tracks like And the Cradle Will Rock Everybody Wants Some and Romeo Delight that quickly became fan favorites and live staples.
