On This Day March 2 1987 - Exposure by Exposé Was Released
On this day March 2 1987 Exposé released their debut album Exposure. The album helped define the freestyle and dance pop sound of the late 1980s blending infectious melodies with high energy production.

Exposure reached number 16 on the Billboard 200 charts and featured several hit singles including Season’s Change which became the group’s first number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Other standout tracks included Point of No Return Let Me Be the One and Come Go with Me which all became major hits on both pop and dance charts.

Exposé became the first group to have four top ten hits from a debut album on the Billboard Hot 100 solidifying their place in music history. The success of Exposure made Exposé one of the most influential female groups of the era setting the stage for their continued success in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

80s insight: The original version of Point of No Return was recorded in 1984 with a different lineup before Exposé was reformed with new members for their debut album.
