On this day, October 27, 1986, XTC released their ninth album, Skylarking. Produced by Todd Rundgren, the album featured a cohesive and lush sound that blended elements of rock, psychedelia, and pop. Despite initially peaking at #70 on the Billboard charts, Skylarking has since become one of XTC’s most celebrated works, gaining a devoted following for its sophisticated production and standout tracks like “Dear God” and “Grass.”
