On this day, November 22, 1985, the film White Nights premiered in theaters. Directed by Taylor Hackford, the movie starred legendary dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov and the multitalented Gregory Hines, along with a stellar cast that included Helen Mirren, Isabella Rossellini, and Jerzy Skolimowski.

The film combined drama, dance, and political intrigue, telling the story of a Soviet defector and an American dancer who form an unlikely bond in the shadow of Cold War tensions.
