Everyone has that one song. The one that made you start listening to the radio nonstop, taping songs off the air, and begging for your first cassette. What 80s song flipped that switch for you and made you fall in love with music?

I think for me it was either Big in Japan by Alphaville Let’s Dance by David Bowie.

Mine was Physical by Olivia Newton John. I was around eleven and it was everywhere. I used to dance around my room like I was in a workout class haha. That song made me want to listen to the radio all the time.

Jump by Van Halen. I heard that keyboard and I was in. That was the first time I was like yeah this is my kind of music. After that I was taping songs off the radio and buying cassettes anytime I got birthday money.

Those are some good ones. I remember watching the music video for Jump on my tv during the early 80s. I still remember thinking to myself how cool David Lee Roth looked jumping and spreading his legs lol. I was probably like 10 years old so you can’t hold that against me.

Bette Davis Eyes by Kim Carnes. I remember hearing it on the radio and just being mesmerized by her voice and the beat. It felt mysterious.
