On this day, December 23, 1986, The Voyager made history as the first aircraft to fly non-stop around the world without refueling. Piloted by Dick Rutan and Jeana Yeager, the groundbreaking journey began on December 14 and lasted for 9 days, covering over 25,000 miles.

This incredible feat of aviation endurance demonstrated the limits of human ingenuity and engineering. The aircraft is now displayed at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.
