On this day, November 18, 1985, The Jesus and Mary Chain released their debut album, Psychocandy. Known for its groundbreaking blend of noise, distortion, and melody, the album helped define the shoegaze and alternative rock genres.

Though it only reached #188 on the Billboard charts, Psychocandy has since become a cult classic, featuring iconic tracks like “Just Like Honey” and “You Trip Me Up.” The album’s influence can still be heard in countless bands today.
