On this day, November 26, 1988, Rick Astley released his second studio album, Hold Me in Your Arms. Following the massive success of his debut, Whenever You Need Somebody, this album showcased Astley’s soulful voice and polished production, solidifying his place in late 80s pop.

The album peaked at #19 on the Billboard charts in the United States and climbed to #3 in Canada. It featured hits like “She Wants to Dance with Me,” which was written by Astley himself, and the heartfelt title track, “Hold Me in Your Arms.”
