On this day August 15, 1985, Dio dropped their third album, Sacred Heart, which quickly climbed to #29 on the U.S. Billboard charts and reached #4 in the UK. This album, filled with the signature power and intensity that Dio fans love, continued to build on the band’s legacy in the heavy metal world.

Though Sacred Heart didn't achieve the same commercial success as some of Dio's earlier albums, it's celebrated for its epic themes and powerful performances. Tracks like "King of Rock and Roll" and "Rock 'n' Roll Children" showcase the band's mastery of the genre.
