On August 12, 1981, Luther Vandross released his debut solo album Never Too Much, marking the start of a legendary career. The album quickly made an impact, reaching #19 on the Billboard charts and securing the #1 spot on the R&B chart. Featuring the hit title track “Never Too Much,” the album sold over 2 million copies in the U.S., establishing Vandross as a powerhouse in the R&B genre.
