On this day, October 23, 1987, Prince of Darkness, directed by John Carpenter, premiered in theaters. Starring Donald Pleasence, Lisa Blount, and Victor Wong, this horror film blended science and supernatural elements as a group of researchers discovers a mysterious container with an ancient evil inside. With a $3 million budget, the movie grossed $14.1 million at the box office and became another cult classic in Carpenter’s filmography.
