On this day, November 18, 1988, High Spirits premiered in theaters. Directed by Neil Jordan, this supernatural comedy featured an all-star cast, including Daryl Hannah, Peter O’Toole, Steve Guttenberg, Beverly D’Angelo, Jennifer Tilly, Peter Gallagher, Martin Ferrero, and a young Liam Neeson.

Despite its $17 million budget, the film was a financial disappointment, earning only $8.5 million at the box office. However, its quirky mix of romance, ghosts, and comedy has given it a cult following over the years.
