On this day, December 5, 1980, Parliament released their ninth studio album, Trombipulation. Known for their innovative funk sound, Parliament delivered a record that blended humor, creativity, and grooves, solidifying their place as pioneers of the genre.

Trombipulation peaked at #61 on the Billboard 200 chart and featured tracks like “Agony of Defeet” and “Let’s Play House.” Notably, this was Parliament’s final album before their hiatus, with the group not releasing another studio album until Medicaid Fraud Dogg in 2018.
