On January 1, 1980, the very first Far Side comic by Gary Larson was published in the San Francisco Chronicle. Known for its quirky and surreal humor, The Far Side went on to become a cultural phenomenon, running for 15 years and appearing in over 1,900 newspapers worldwide. The comic was also translated into 17 different languages, making it a global favorite.
