On this day, November 18, 1985, Arcadia released their debut album So Red the Rose. Formed by Duran Duran members Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, and Roger Taylor during the band’s brief hiatus, the project showcased a darker, more experimental side of their sound.

The album, featuring singles like “Election Day” and “Goodbye Is Forever,” peaked at #23 on the Billboard charts and earned praise for its lush production and moody atmosphere. Often referred to as “the best album Duran Duran never made,” it stands as a unique chapter in their history.

Have you heard So Red the Rose? How do you think it compares to Duran Duran’s music?
