On this day May 6, 1982, progressive rock band Camel released their ninth studio album The Single Factor. The album marked a shift toward a more streamlined, radio friendly sound following years of complex, symphonic rock arrangements. It was largely driven by bandleader Andrew Latimer, with a rotating cast of session musicians filling in after the departure of several longtime members.
