The event was notable for not having a host and was broadcasted by ABC. "Rain Man" also saw Barry Levinson win Best Director, while Dustin Hoffman and Jodie Foster were honored with Best Actor and Best Actress for their roles in "Rain Man" and "The Accused," respectively.
