On this day March 19 1982 British rock band After the Fire released their fourth and final studio album Batteries Not Included. The album blended new wave and progressive rock influences showcasing the band's signature synth-driven sound.

Despite critical praise Batteries Not Included struggled commercially as the band faced label issues and internal challenges. Shortly after the album’s release After the Fire disbanded though their music later gained a cult following.
