On this day June 8, 1983, Trading Places premiered in theaters. Directed by John Landis, the film starred Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy as two men from opposite worlds who find their lives suddenly reversed as part of a cruel social experiment. Jamie Lee Curtis, Don Ameche and Ralph Bellamy rounded out the cast in this sharp comedy that mixed slapstick laughs with biting commentary on class, race and privilege.
