On this day June 30, 1988, jazz and soft pop artist Michael Franks released Indispensable: The Best of Michael Franks, his twelfth album and first greatest hits collection. Known for his smooth vocals, poetic lyrics, and laid back jazz influenced sound, Franks used this compilation to highlight the best of his work up to that point.
