On this day June 27, 1981, Bette Davis Eyes by Kim Carnes returned to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 after briefly slipping to number two. The song first reached number one on May 16 and held the top spot through June 19. After one week off the throne, it reclaimed number one on June 27 and remained there until July 24, for a total of nine weeks at the top.
