On this day June 20, 1989, Prince released the Batman soundtrack, a bold and unconventional companion to Tim Burton’s blockbuster film. Unlike traditional scores, this album was filled with funk, pop and rock tracks entirely composed and performed by Prince, giving the movie its unique sonic identity.
