On this day June 20, 1988, Iggy Pop released his eighth solo album Instinct. After dabbling in a more commercial sound with Blah Blah Blah, this album marked a return to his raw, hard rock roots. Featuring former Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones, the album delivered a heavier, guitar-driven sound that resonated more with longtime fans than mainstream radio.
