On this day June 20, 1980, The Blues Brothers soundtrack was released to coincide with the film’s theatrical debut. Featuring performances by Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi in character as Jake and Elwood Blues, the album also included legendary soul and R and B artists such as Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, James Brown and Cab Calloway.
