On this day June 18, 1982, the musical film Annie premiered in theaters. Based on the hit Broadway show and the classic comic strip Little Orphan Annie, the movie starred Aileen Quinn in the title role and Carol Burnett as the infamous Miss Hannigan.

Directed by John Huston, the film brought big musical numbers to the screen with songs like Tomorrow and It's the Hard Knock Life. It also featured a strong supporting cast including Albert Finney, Ann Reinking, Tim Curry and Bernadette Peters...
