On this day July 10, 1985, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome premiered in theaters and delivered the third chapter in George Miller’s post apocalyptic saga. Directed by George Miller and George Ogilvie, the film once again starred Mel Gibson as Max Rockatansky and introduced music legend Tina Turner in a commanding role as Aunty Entity, the ruler of Bartertown.

Set in a lawless desert society built from scraps of the old world, the film pushed the Mad Max universe further into mythic territory...
