On this day July 1, 1987, the sci fi comedy adventure Innerspace premiered in theaters. Directed by Joe Dante, the film starred Dennis Quaid as a test pilot who is miniaturized and accidentally injected into the body of a hypochondriac grocery clerk played by Martin Short. Meg Ryan and Kevin McCarthy also starred in the fast paced and inventive story.
