On this day April 1 1987 the sitcom Roxie premiered on CBS. A spinoff of the popular series Kate & Allie the show starred Andrea Martin as Roxie Brinkerhoff, a quirky TV producer working at a struggling New York City television station.

Roxie attempted to carry over the charm and humor of Kate & Allie but with a workplace twist. Despite Martin’s comedic talent and a promising setup the series ran for just 1 season with a total of 6 episodes before being pulled from the schedule. The show is...
