On this day, November 13, 1981, New Order released their debut album, Movement. This album marked the band’s transition from their previous incarnation as Joy Division, blending post-punk with emerging electronic sounds that would later define their style. Movement reached #30 on the UK charts and hit #1 on the UK Indie charts, establishing New Order’s place in the music scene and paving the way for their future success.
