On this day, October 22, 1982, Monsignor premiered in theaters. Directed by Frank Perry and starring Christopher Reeve, Geneviève Bujold, and Fernando Rey, the film followed the story of a Catholic priest who becomes entangled in corruption and crime within the Vatican. Despite its star-studded cast and a $10 million budget, Monsignor was met with mixed reviews but managed to gross $12.4 million at the box office.

Do you remember watching Monsignor when it came out, or did you discover it later in Christopher Reeve’s filmography?
