On this day, October 2, 1981, British ska band Madness released their third studio album, 7! The album was a big hit in the UK, reaching #5 on the charts. Known for its infectious energy and witty lyrics, 7 features some of the band’s classic tracks, including “Cardiac Arrest” and “Shut Up.” The album solidified Madness’s place as one of the defining bands of the UK’s ska and new wave scenes.
