On this day, September 25, 1980, Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham was tragically found dead by his bandmate John Paul Jones. Bonham passed away from alcohol poisoning (pulmonary aspiration) after reportedly consuming over 40 shots of vodka the previous day. His untimely death led to the dissolution of Led Zeppelin, as the band decided they could not continue without their iconic drummer.
