On June 25, 1982, John Carpenter’s remake of the horror classic “The Thing” premiered in theaters. Starring Kurt Russell in the lead role, the film was produced with a budget of $15 million. Despite its initial mixed reviews and a modest box office return of $19.6 million, “The Thing” has since gained a cult following. Renowned for its groundbreaking special effects, intense atmosphere, and gripping storyline, the film is now celebrated as one of the greatest horror movies of all time.
