On this day, January 31, 1986, the sci-fi action film Eliminators was released in the United States. A perfect blend of 80s B-movie action, robotics, and adventure, Eliminators became a cult favorite for fans of low-budget, high energy sci-fi.

Directed by Peter Manoogian, the film follows a mandroid a half man, half machine hybridwho teams up with a scientist, a mercenary, and a ninja to take down the evil mastermind who created him. Packed with practical effects, cheesy one liners, and over the top action, Eliminators is a prime example of 80s sci-fi fun.

Fun Fact: The film was produced by Charles Band’s Empire Pictures, the same studio responsible for cult classics like Trancers and Robot Jox.

Trivia Question: Which 80s movie studio, famous for low budget sci-fi and horror films, produced Eliminators?
