On this day, January 30, 1981, Journey released their live album, Captured. Featuring recordings from their 1980 tour supporting Departure, this album marked the first live release in the band’s career and captured the energy of their electrifying performances.

Captured soared to #9 on the Billboard 200 charts, showcasing the band's dynamic stage presence and classic hits like Wheel in the Sky, Lights, and Any Way You Want It. The album also included a new studio track, The Party's Over (Hopelessly in Love), which became a fan favorite.

Fun Fact: This album was the last to feature founding member Gregg Rolie on keyboards before he was replaced by Jonathan Cain.

Trivia Question: What year did Journey release their iconic album Escape, which featured the mega-hit Don’t Stop Believin’?
