On this day, January 28, 1989, the beloved children’s anthology series Long Ago and Far Away premiered on PBS. Hosted by actor James Earl Jones, the series introduced children to folk tales, fairy tales, and other stories from around the world through a mix of live-action, animation, and puppetry.
