Plot: High Road to China is a 1983 action adventure set in the roaring twenties. The story follows Eve Tozer, a wealthy heiress who must find her father before greedy business partners can declare him dead and take control of his empire. She hires Patrick O'Malley, a cynical but skilled pilot, to help her in a desperate race across continents.

What begins as a tense partnership grows into a thrilling journey filled with danger, vintage aircraft, exotic landscapes, and rising tension between the leads. Tom Selleck brings charm and grit to the role of O'Malley, while Bess Armstrong shines as the determined and fearless Eve.

Though often compared to Raiders of the Lost Ark, High Road to China stands on its own as a well crafted period adventure. With its sweeping visuals, aerial stunts, and romantic flair, it remains a cult favorite for fans of 1980s action films.

Tom Selleck filmed this during the height of his Magnum PI fame. It gave audiences a glimpse of what could have been if he had starred in Raiders.
