On this day, November 29, 1988, Guns N’ Roses released their second album, G N’ R Lies. Combining four acoustic tracks with four songs from their earlier Live ?!@ Like a Suicide* EP, the album showcased the band’s versatility, blending raw energy with softer, more introspective moments.

The album peaked at #2 on the Billboard charts and featured the hit single “Patience,” which became one of the band’s most iconic ballads. With over 5 million copies sold in the U.S., G N’ R Lies solidified Guns N’ Roses’ reputation as one of the biggest rock bands of the 80s.

What’s your favorite track from G N’ R Lies? How do you think it compares to Appetite for Destruction?
