On this day, February 2, 1988, Lita Ford released her third solo album, Lita. This album marked a major breakthrough in her career, solidifying her as one of the leading women in hard rock during the late 80s. Packed with powerful guitar riffs, melodic hooks, and radio-friendly production, Lita became her most commercially successful release.

The album reached number 29 on the US Billboard 200 and featured some of her biggest hits, including Kiss Me Deadly and the duet Close My Eyes Forever with Ozzy Osbourne. These songs helped propel Lita Ford into mainstream rock success and remain staples of 80s rock playlists today.

Fun fact: Close My Eyes Forever was written by Lita Ford and Ozzy Osbourne during a late-night studio session, and it became Lita’s highest-charting single, reaching number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Trivia question: Which famous rock legend duetted with Lita Ford on Close My Eyes Forever?
